The prodigal son felt completely unworthy to return to his father’s house as a son. He was, however, willing to become a servant in order to receive the blessings of a servant. Because when we do, it becomes impossible to see what He’s done for us: the redemption and freedom we’ve been invited into. Have you fallen into that trap?
The Old Testament ends with God’s promise to restore a very special relationship: fathers and children (Malachi 4:5-6). What’s His plan for us, and why is the spirit of Elijah involved?
